Organization at a glance

Bagura Zilla Spondon Protibondhi Nari Parishad is an Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) working in Bagura district of Bangladesh. The organization was established in 2005 Being started involving 500 women with disabilities with support from ADD International Bangladesh now the organization has a total 36 members; among them 36 are female. The organization implements its activities ensuring equal participation of men and women with disabilities. According the bylaws of the organization there are 36 members in its General Committee and 9 members are in the Executive Committee.

The organizational activities are implemented by the staff and volunteers following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director. Through the direct involvement of men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and improve their lives with support from government and non-government organizations.

Besides, the organization is striving for partnerships with mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs through ensuring active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities as well as providing capacity building and technical assistance.
